Hey there! I'm Matt Dixon.

I am a seasoned data professional with a passion for healthcare technology. My professional journey has taken me from the ed-tech space where I worked at a small tech firm all the way to the big-tech world of Amazon. Along the way I have experienced my fair share of the corporate world, having worked at three health systems over the last 10+ years. I am currently at Northwell Health working as a Cloud Architect, where I get to influence and ultimately execute on the organization's hybrid multi-cloud technology strategy. I have deep experience and hold certifications across all three major public clouds.

Beyond the world of tech, I find happiness as both a father and husband. My family helps to bring balance to my life; Something that I personally believe is paramount to leading a meaningful and fulfilling life.

In my free time I enjoy reading, fitness and anything pushing me to get outdoors. I read various types of books from fictional thrillers to self-help to autobiographies and everything in between. Since 2020 I have been documenting all the books I have read here, if you’re interested. Recently I have also gotten back into writing for a multitude of reasons (that I actually talk about here in more detail). I took this hobby one step further and started a blog. Like my reading habit, this blog covers a plethora of topics ranging from self-help to technical articles. I hope you enjoy it!

Reading has been called the single most important habit one can poses. I agree and have dove into this habit head first over the last few years, finishing a book every month on average. My preference tends to skew towards non-fiction books focused around professional and personal development but I have made a conscious effort to incorporate more fiction recently. If you interested what I am currently reading or have read in the past come take a look at my book log!

Writing has proven itself as a valuable tool in my life. From to-do lists to brain-dumping, journalling, and blogging writing has become a daily habit. Your brain is not meant to store every fact you have ever heard, or remember every event that is upcoming or even to remember to complete a simple task at work; Our brains work much better when they are clear of this clutter and free to ideate. If you're curious about personal or professional development, or you’re a data and technology nerd like me, come check out the blog!
